Yes, absolutely. There are many factors involved and most are not obvious to people who are not trained in security or electrical codes. A poorly installed alarm system can be easily compromised by criminals.
No problem! We have several monitoring options that don’t require a telephone line. So, you can get rid of your home telephone and save that monthly expense! We can monitor your alarm using an Internet connection which also provides Interactive Alarm Services, such as the ability to arm or disarm your alarm system using a Smartphone or computer. We also have wireless transmission options, such as using a cellular or radio communicator to monitor your alarm system.
Yes, if this is your preferred choice for alarm monitoring. We’ll also provide you with several suggestions on how to prevent criminals from cutting your telephone line.
If the telephone line is defective or cut, the alarm system will create an alarm if it is armed. Unfortunately, it will only be able to alert people on the premises through the noise created by its siren(s). Our monitoring station cannot receive alarm messages if your telephone line is cut or defective. We would only suspect that there might be a problem when your alarm panel misses its periodic test transmission (which we have programmed to be sent every 24 hours). Please call or contact us for information on how to prevent your telephone line from being cut.

We can link our Interactive Alarm Services to most modern security systems manufactured in the last 15 years. In the event that your alarm panel is not compatible with our Internet communication module, we will upgrade your existing alarm equipment at a discounted cost.
We can usually reprogram your existing security system to have it monitored by our Central Station. There are some exceptions where the alarm equipment is “locked-out” or is a proprietary product that was made for the exclusive and sole use of the original alarm installing company. If this turns out to be the case, we will upgrade your existing alarm equipment at a discounted cost. Les Entreprises Dilaney does not sell or install proprietary alarm equipment, nor do we place “lock-outs” on our control panels. Our policy is: “If you own your alarm system, you can decide to do business with whomever you choose!”
For increased security, your alarm system’s transmissions can be made with an Internet communication module. If the Internet connection is cut or missing, you will receive text messages and/or emails to alert you of this situation within ten minutes of the problem occurring. To ensure that an alarm signal always reaches our monitoring station, opt for a wireless transmitter, such as a radio or a cellular communicator.
Our Interactive Alarm Services turn any Smartphone into a secure wireless keypad where you must enter your 4 or 6-digit access code to disarm your alarm system from anywhere in the world. A wireless keyfob actually removes your security since anyone who steals it now has the keys to your home or business attached to the keyfob along with a very simple way to render your entire alarm system useless by deactivating it with the push of a button. If you require a wireless keyfob, we will DISABLE the one-touch DISARM button so that this device cannot be used against you.
Yes, “Opening and Closing” reports are included free of charge with our Interactive Alarm Services.
Yes, we ALWAYS install motion detectors with pet immunity for animals. Models are specific to the weight of the animals, from 35 lbs up to 100 lbs (15.88 kg up to 45.36 kg). These pet-proof motion detectors MUST be installed properly in the home, or they will not work as desired. We also instruct the users on steps to take to ensure that their pets do not cause false alarms.
Absolutely! In fact, the most important usage of your security system is when you are at home sleeping because this is when you and your family are the most vulnerable. STAY and NIGHT ARM are two very simple arming methods that allow you to remain at home with selected motion detectors automatically bypassed so that you do not accidentally set them off when you move about your home.
Yes. Some alarm service providers program their control panels to perform a self-test once every 30 days. This is not a very reliable way to verify if your alarm system will be able to contact the monitoring station in the event of an emergency. Les Entreprises Dilaney programs all of its clients’ security systems to send an automatic self-test once a day, every 24 hours.
Yes. Please call or contact us for information and instructions on how to test the individual sensors (door contact, smoke detector, motion detector, etc.) of your alarm system to ensure that these devices continue to perform as expected in an emergency.
In addition to testing, we advise that you regularly vacuum all of the smoke detectors in your home to keep their internal chambers free of accumulated dust. At the same time, vacuum on and around your motion detectors to discourage spiders from making webs near these devices.
The discount varies with different insurance providers. We will contact your insurance company on your behalf and supply your agent with the necessary details. Some insurance companies offer an additional rebate if you have at least one (1) smoke detector connected to your alarm system which is being monitored by a Central Station.
